About Birch Psychology
Dr. Birch is a Clinical Psychologist who is registered to provide psychological assessment and therapy services to adolescents and adults.
Throughout her training and since the completion of her doctorate at Dalhousie University in 2008, Dr. Birch has worked in various hospitals, treatment facilities, schools, prisons, and private practice settings. It is her view that careful assessment and treatment planning is invaluable, and she is dedicated to a scientist-practitioner approach in providing treatments that have proven effectiveness.
Dr. Birch is well-experienced in customizing treatments to meet unique client needs using the following therapeutic approaches:
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT including mindfulness techniques)
- Humanistic Therapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
